In 1969, filming in Mozambique, Tippi Hedren watched lions take over a house that people had just abandoned and decided it should be a movie. She and her husband Noel Marshall began taking in rescued big cats and living with them at their California ranch, then cast themselves, her daughter Melanie Griffith and his two sons in Roar, shot with untrained lions, tigers and leopards in nearly every scene. — Read the rest
